Online Meetings via Remote Desktop Connect, how do I set audio and video?

Aimed at:  Edinburgh Napier’s staff

Usually, by default any sound / recording will be set to play on the computer you are connecting from (your home PC), but if this is not the case then you should update the settings when you Remote Connect from your home PC:

  • Click on the Local Resources tab and then Settings:

  • In the Remote Audio Playback section click Play on this Computer and then OK:

  • Click Connect

  • Enter your Edinburgh Napier University login ID (username) in the format “napier-mail\400XXXX” and password and click OK.
    If you receive an error message regarding the identity of the remote computer click Yes.

    You should now be connected to your office PC and hear any audio on your home PC.
