What format does my University password need to be in?

What format does my University password need to be in?

Aimed at:  Edinburgh Napier’s staff & students

When you set your University password the system will ensure it meets the following criteria: 

  • It must contain at least 7 characters
  • It must not contain more than 16 characters
  • It must contain at least 1 letter
  • It must contain at least 1 digit
  • It must not contain your username
  • It must be different from your previous password
  • It must not contain words such as “napier” or “password”
