How do I set my phone to divert to my home/mobile number?

Aimed at:  Edinburgh Napier’s staff

You can divert your phone using the Online Cisco Self Service website (this can be done from any internal or external PC with internet access, if accessing externally you will need to be connected to the Virtual Desktop Service (VDS) or on a Managed Laptop) or using your telephone handset.

Before you divert your phone you should be aware of the following:

  • When setting your phone to divert externally, you will need to add a 9 (for an external line) before your telephone number, e.g. 9 0131 XXX XXXX.
  • If someone calls your extension and it is diverted to your home/mobile number, the portion of the call from your extension to your home/mobile number will be charged to your extension.
  • If you have any restrictions on your line (e.g. internal calls only, national calls only etc.) these will still apply – i.e. only calls will be forwarded that adhere to these restrictions.
  • Remember to remove diversions when they are no longer required.
