Why can I no longer dial 0800 or 0845 numbers from my telephone handset?

Why can I no longer dial 0800 or 0845 numbers from my telephone handset?

Aimed at:  Edinburgh Napier’s staff

This is because companies that have these numbers have dropped the end 0 to make their numbers "nicer" to the public.

Unfortunately this is not picked up by the new IPT system and the numbers are showing as incomplete.

To fix this:

  • Add the 0 to the end of the number, e.g. 0800 44 55 66 becomes 0800 44 55 66 0

If you are still unable to dial 0800 or 0845 numbers, you may not have the relevant access rights to dial externally to national or international numbers, if this is the case contact the IS Service Desk;

Email: ISServiceDesk@napier.ac.uk
Telephone: ext 3000 or (0131) 455 3000 from an external line.
