How do I connect to University email using IMAP?

Aimed at:  Edinburgh Napier’s staff

You can access your email using Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) as an alternative to accessing your mailbox using the Outlook Web App.

IMAP can be used for off-campus access to your mailbox and is particularly useful over slow dial-up connections because it does not download your entire mailbox, allowing you to view the header and sender of an email and then decide whether to download the mail.
