When I try to set my password it says “Password not set”, what do I do?

When I try to set my password it says “Password not set”, what do I do? 

Aimed at:  Edinburgh Napier’s new students

​Your password does not meet the University’s complexity rules:

  • Password must be at least 7 characters long, but no more than 16
  • Password must contain at least 1 letter and 1 number
  • Password must not contain your name, or your matriculation number
  • Password must not contain the words “password” or “Napier

Please note that if you have been a student with us before, you will not be able to use any of your passwords used previously. This applies if it was a completely different course.
