Can I use the Tor anonymity network on the University network?

Aimed at:  Edinburgh Napier’s staff & students

Although Tor has many legitimate uses, it is also used by malware to communicate with Command & Control servers and it can be used to evade other security
measures, such as web filtering. To ensure the safety and security of University systems and of our users, we have taken the decision to block Tor on the University
network.
