Can I load electronic copies of book chapters and journal articles into Moodle?

Aimed at:  Edinburgh Napier’s staff

This depends on what you want to copy, and how you do it. In general it will probably not be legal for you to scan published material yourself to add to Moodle, or to add material you have downloaded from a website.

Depending on what it is, it may be possible for the library to provide you with an electronic copy. Please see the more detailed advice in our guide Digital copying for Moodle.

If the material is freely accessible on the internet we would normally recommend linking to it and clearly acknowledging the source. If the site does not make it clear whether linking is permitted you are advised to contact the page owner to seek permission.

Staff: Go to Digital Copying for Moodle.
