Can I borrow Library books over the summer?

Aimed at:  Everyone

If you are a current, matriculated student or a staff member at Edinburgh Napier University, you can still borrow books during the summer months in the same way as you would during term time. The library does not offer extended loans over summer.

External users can also borrow during summer; though may wish to note that the library’s opening hours may vary over this period.

Automatic renewals

Most of our book and other loans automatically renew up to a maximum period.

If an item on loan to you is requested by another user, or you have reached the end of your maximum loan period, you will not be able to renew your loans any further.  For this reason, we recommend that you return any library items before your go on holiday or leave the country.

What is the maximum due date for the items I have on loan?

You can check the items you have on loan and due dates using the My Library Card section of LibrarySearch.

Students: Go to the Finding and borrowing books pages.

Staff: Go to the Automatic renewals Staff Intranet pages.
