When can I start using the Library?

Aimed at:  Edinburgh Napier’s students

Welcome to Edinburgh Napier University!
You can visit our libraries to study and browse at any time (including before you are a student).

As a new student, you can borrow books and other items as soon as you have a student ID card.
Once you have matriculated and uploaded your photo, your card will usually be sent to you within five days.
See Matriculation FAQs.

You need to have your physical student ID card with you to:

  • Use our self service kiosks
  • Borrow laptops using LapSafe lockers
  • Access the buildings after 6pm and at weekends

We also have thousands of e-books and e-journals available online.

Go to the Finding and Borrowing Books my Napier page.
